Continuing this week with part 2 of the series on sin and how to break free of the vicious circle. We teach how it is possible to actually experience freedom of sin, now that we as believers have been set free of the powers of darkness by the finished works of Christ at the Cross.
According to Romans chapter 8 verse 2 (AMPC), the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed the believer from the law of sin and of death. Jesus has set the believer free from the bondage of sin and the wages of it, being a spiritual death. Do you KNOW this promise of God, or is your conscience condemning you, continually keeping you in a prison of belief that you will never be able to get free of this entrapment?
We are not helpless. We do not have to succumb to fear or anxiety about anything in our lives, or anything in the world. The Word of God assures us of what has to happen in these end times, but Jesus also re-assures us, His sheep, for us not to be frightened or troubled.
If I have pure faith, with no unbelief, doubt or fear, but yet I lack love, I am a useless nobody. So writes the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:2.
Jesus speaks of us hearing of wars and rumors of wars, a nation rising against another nation, a kingdom against another kingdom (Matthew 24:6-7). However, we the church are to stand strong in our faith, not be frightened or troubled.
God the Father rescues a soul from the powers of darkness when that soul uses its God-given Faith to confess and receive Jesus as Lord, believing God raised Him from the dead.
James 2:14 What is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]? What is the point of God giving us faith if we never use it for good works that He has predestined for us to walk in (Ephesians 2:10)? God only gives us what we need, so let us use what He has given us, for His glory, to be set free, and stay free!
It is easier to believe than we think. It is easier to use the equal measure of faith God has given to each of us. If we base our understanding of how effective our faith is based on whether we see something quickly, this can be a problem and introduce doubt.
Pure Faith without a doubt, is what causes our mountains to move when we speak to them. 2 Corinthians 13:5 begins by saying ‘Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it’.
Continuing the topic of faith, we speak on trusting by faith with what we do not see for it to become visible, instead of making conclusions and accepting things based on what we see, smell, taste, hear etc. However, we believe the Holy Spirit led us to speak on an unrelated topic first. Proverbs 3:7-8 explains how our body receives health when we turn entirely away from evil, and, instead, reverently worship and fear the Lord.
