Many are making New Years resolutions to change their lives and fix situations that were out of control. The truth is, for us believers, nothing works apart from God. We bless our food, we say prayers and in emergencies we pray. This comfortable ritual has to change. In order for us to have a relationship with Jesus we must welcome him into every part of our lives. Jesus can help you at work. Jesus can help you with your family. Jesus can bring revelation to every situation. If you open the door and allow Him to come in and dine with you, you will have more to dine on during the year. You won’t just talk about change but change will come with prayer and steady action to break the chains of bondage over your life. No one said this would be easy, but, with God all things are possible (Matt 19:26). Walk out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12). it says in James that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). It also says that when we have faith and works we are justified in righteousness and whole (Rom 5:1).
We also must resist old temptations to be comfortable with the way things are. Giant walls weren’t built in a day but one brick at a time. That’s how we need to look at it, one brick and prayer at a time. Taste and see that the Lord is good (Ps 34:8). We can look back or look forward this year. We can overcome living in defeat. We can have life more abundant and live in God’s promises.
I pray for all who are reading that this change comes for you in the name of Jesus. Not by might , nor by power, but by My spirit says the Lord. (Zec 4:6).
Be blessed and keep moving forward. You are precious to the Lord.
