When the enemy shall come in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight
(Isaiah 59:19 AMPC – Punctuation removed)
Isaiah 59:19 includes the words ‘….When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight….’
In various versions there is a comma after the word flood. This wrongly gives the impression the devil comes in like a flood. Given that there was no punctuation in the earliest manuscripts of the Old Testament we should consider removing the comma and read the verse again.
Then ask yourself, and ask the Holy Spirit: Who is more likely to come in like a flood? The devil who has been defeated, or the Spirit of the Lord? We believe that the Masoretes incorrectly added a comma after flood, and at a minimum it should be read without one and left up to the reader to decide with confirmation from the Holy Spirit.
The devil Satan and his demonic realm have no way to function upon this earth without working through the free will agreement of fallen man or lukewarm believers.
In this program we focus on how our walk with the Lord, or our walk without Him, can dictate where we are led. We follow one of two masters every hour. We cannot serve both at the same time, but that doesn’t mean that our flesh doesn’t try to pull us into alternating between them.
Believers in Christ, they are a new creation, they are one spirit with the Lord. If we are one spirit with Him, we should be fully immersed in His flowing current that is the pulling or leading of His Holy Spirit. But we still have the ability to have one foot in and one foot out of that current depending on what we feed our soul. The believer in Chris is positionally buried with Christ. However, what we feed our flesh with can cause our old man to be resurrected. We need to consume ourselves with things that transform us into who we have now become, that new creation in Christ that the blood of Jesus has paid so preciously for.
This program covers the following Scriptures from the Amplified Classic version (AMPC): 2 Corinthians 4:4; John 8:44; 1 Peter 2:1; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 John 1:9; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 14:26; John 14:23; 1 Corinthians 6:17; Galatians 5:24-26; Jude 1:20; Romans 12:2.
And a very good day. This is Pastor Marc Whelan with Touch of God. And this week we’re going to be talking about how we are led by what gets fed. And let us not be fooled or deceived into anything, a man who wants to be fooled or deceived. We want to know the truth. We want to be led into the truth by the Holy Spirit. We need to know which master we are serving, and be conscious every hour of every day. Who are we serving? Are we trying to seek the truth? Do we know our Lord? Do we know his nature? Do we know what he would want us to do in a given situation? Are we following our heart which has been healed by the Lord that has been sanctified by the Lord if we have given him our life? Indeed? How can we be sure that we are not fooled or deceived into thinking something that is not the truth every day? We need to be doing things as the Lord would do them. We need to follow Jesus as example. Amen. So let us ask ourselves, who are we following? The world or the Lord? Is Jesus our Lord? Or is the world money and evil desires, our Lord instead? Who is our God who is our master? We want to be discerning the truth we want to be following the truth. What we feed our soul with is what determined how we are LED, what we feed, decides what how we are LED, and what leads us in our previous life without Jesus before we were born again, we were led by the desires of the flesh, amen. We were conformed and kept conformed by this world, because we were molded by what we gave ourselves to. We will conform to this world that is the Romans chapter 12, verse two scripture, the apostle Paul is writing to the Romans, and he’s saying, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, meaning reading the Word of God and, and believing it that it’s true, and acting in and understanding who you are in Christ now. But you see, back in those days when we were not with Christ, when we were not believers of Christ, we didn’t receive Him as Lord, confess Him as Lord, have him as our Savior, and our Lord every day. We will conform to the world, the world was molding us to itself, because we were in the world. We didn’t know the Lord, we were being conformed by that which we gave ourself to. We were led by evil desires and evil influences the demonic darkness itself. That is all we knew, because the Bible tells us in Second Corinthians chapter four, verse four, that the devil kept us blind all those years, from finding out the truth of Jesus, and the good news. Now, it was before someone came and told us the good news, and we decided to listen some more, and then ultimately made a decision to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Not only that, our old father was the devil. Now, I’m not talking about our biological father, I’m talking about our spiritual father was the devil. Now, we taught on this a couple of weeks ago. So today, you either belong to the devil, or Jesus. You are either in the kingdom of darkness, or you’re in the kingdom of God’s beloved son. Amen. You cannot be in both kingdoms at the same time. Amen. You cannot serve two masters, and some saying that the devil owns the top of the fence, as well as his own side. Now Jesus said, Those who are of the same characteristics of the devil, have him as their father. Jesus himself says this, john, chapter eight, verse 44, is how he spoke about it. Jesus said, to the Pharisees, you are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires which are characteristic of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a false hood, he speaks what is natural to him, but he is a liar himself, and the father of lies and of all that is false. So the devil, according to Jesus is not just the father of lies, but he’s the father of all that is false. So if anything is false, the devil is the father of it. Now to varying degrees of his nature, the devil is nature. We were like him before we came to Christ, to varying degrees. I want to make sure you understand, we are not all murderers. But we have darkness we had darkness within us to varying degrees, we will committing different kinds of sins. And so we were in darkness and this was natural to us. First Peter chapter two verse one says, so be done with every trace of wickedness, depravity, malignity and all deceit and insincerity, pretense and hypocrisy and grudges, envy, jealousy and slander and evil speaking of every kind. Now, this list is not in the same list as the fruits of the Holy Spirit. As we know, Galatians chapter five, verse 22, and 23 lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit says, but the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the word which his presence within accomplishes is love, joy, gladness, peace, patience, and even temper, forbearance, kindness, goodness, benevolence, faithfulness, gentleness, meekness, humility, self control, self restraint, content against such things, there is no law that can bring a charge. That means you can do these things all the time, there is no law against being gentle. For the longest time, there is no law against that there’s no law to love one another. There is no restriction that can bring a charge. You see these things you would not find in a devil’s vocabulary. Because the devil is all about darkness in sin and death and sickness and disease, and anything that would be the opposite of light, and opposite of life. Opposite of righteousness. Opposite of good, because he hates everything that has created any image of God. He is always trying to keep people or try to influence others to control others, whether they be in government, whether they be in your family, whether they be in your town. That is why it’s important to know Jesus and given your life, because you need to become a new creation, and get away from that old father that you used to have. And once you do, you are glad that you found out the good news, you are glad that someone came to tell you about Jesus, our old self, the one before receiving Christ. We did as our father did, to varying degrees depending on how much we wanted to indulge in those things, those desires. Jesus says, The devil is the father of lies, have we ever said a single lie in all our lives? We carried out his will if we did that, like Jesus carried out the will of his father, while Jesus was on the earth. I have said more than a few lies in my life. But since Christ, if I’ve ever even considered lying in is like this line that I cannot cross, it is not in my nature to do it anymore. Like it used to be. Because the blood of Jesus has made me a new creation, and my old man is dead. And so is my old nature with that old man with that burial. And now the Holy Spirit has come into me and is pointing out the truth to me, teaching me the truth as I read the Word of God, so that I no longer am deceived, because now I know the truth, and whom the sunsets free is free. Indeed, Jesus is the Son of God. Amen. And Jesus was the word made flesh, he is the Word, and the Word is what sets us free. Jesus sets us free. So we are convicted by the Holy Spirit, not just scriptural verses, that the Holy Spirit brings up to us, but a prodding a conviction in my heart, when I stepped over a line in need to say sorry to the Lord and repent from doing it again. First john, chapter one, verse nine says that, when I confess my sins, He the Lord forgives me and cleanses me of all unrighteousness, to the difference between the will of the Father that Jesus carried out and the well that we carried out on behalf of the devil, before we came to Christ is the following. The Father’s Will, that Jesus carried out was divine and perfect, and everything that is good, all because of love. Secondly, Jesus was aware that he was carrying out the Father’s Will, because he said he was and the Bible says, that Jesus is I came to do the will of Him who sent me, not my own. But before we came to Christ, some of us never even knew we were being influenced by the demonic realm, and the fallen world and the fallen man around us themselves being influenced by the world. Is it any wonder Jesus said on the cross to the criminals, forgive them Father, for they know not what they do? Some of us on the other hand, were well aware we were being used by the devil and engaged in it, engaged in his practices and his characteristics and his nature and his ways to again to varying degrees, things that we shouldn’t have been doing unrighteous x here’s some examples fortune tellers. Devin is astrology psychic readers are examples of those people who illegally enter the spiritual realm to do the devils. Well, the devils well that we were carrying out before we came to Christ as believers was to varying degrees evil, from a so called white lie to the extremes and varieties of sins. sin is sin, it is the opposite of righteousness. It is the opposite of what is good. It is opposite to right standing with God, it is darkness with no light, and it wants us to keep us down and keep us in chains and bondage. He wants us to keep us believing a lie, thinking that it’s the truth, so that we are never set free. When we came to Christ, we became a new creation. And we surely needed to become a new creation because the old one being fallen because of the acts of Adam and Eve at the tree in the garden of Eden, caused us to be needed to be recreated. Because otherwise we would all be going to hell. And we would not have a choice to receive a lord and savior. Bless Lord Jesus, to receive him on the cross to receive Him as our Lord and Savior, we will not be able to choose him, there will be no choice, there will be no option, no way out. Second Corinthians chapter five, verse 17. Therefore if any person is engrafted, in Christ, the Messiah, he is a new creation, a new creature altogether, the old previous moral and spiritual condition has passed away, but hold the fresh and new has come. And this is the verse or one of the verses in the New Testament that speaks about the new creation, that is the believer that has been grafted in Christ the Messiah, we are a new creature altogether. And again, this is from the Amplified, classic edition version of the Bible. Second Corinthians chapter five, verse 21. It says, For our sake, he made Christ virtually to be sin, who knew no sin, so that in and through him, we might become injured with viewed as being in an examples of the righteousness of God, what we ought to be approved, and acceptable, and in right relationship with him by his goodness. These are the things that we can rejoice about, that we can thank the Lord for all these things that God has done for us. Jesus said, It is finished at the cross. We are a new creation, as we believe in Jesus, we receive Him as Lord, and surely we needed to be born again. Now we get to focus on what the Lord wants his will. Because God has come into us. And we’re going to read about this in just a moment. And God has come into us. And now we are being led by something else that we are now feeding on. We’re no longer feeding on the desires of the flesh. We’re no longer feeding that terrible, wicked heart, that desires of the flesh that we used to have, we no longer feeding those things, because the desire that we have now is more focused on Jesus. Now, we’re not saying that you’re not tempted to still do some of those things you used to do. But if that is the case, repent of it, turn from it, get back into the Word of God. If you say, Well, I’m already reading the Word of God. I say increase it, increase it, increase it, increase your time with the Lord, pray in tongues, bring in your most holy faith, according to Jew chapter one, verse 20. Amen. praying in the Holy Ghost. You need to feed your soul. Amen, you need to feed your soul with the Word of God because the Word of God is alive and active. Hebrews chapter four, verse 12, you need to feed your soul, and your spirit with something that is going to push away the desires that are trying to latch on to you. Amen. Those desires were supposed to be buried with Christ, and they need to stay dead. Because otherwise, if you look at something you shouldn’t be looking, you’re trying to resurrect that old man, that old flesh and it starts creeping out of the grave and starts to come up through the soil and you don’t want that you want to keep him under the ground where all the worms are, amen. The Holy Spirit brings us into the knowledge of the truth. We need to seek the Word of God we need to seek the truth, because the truth What is what sets us free and keeps us free. Even when we turn away from the word and we become embroiled in the distractions of life, in the affairs of life, then we are no longer being fed by something that is alive and active, the Word of God, we’re being pulled away from that, and what is not truth. What is the lack of life what is not life? Its death is a form of death. You are starving your spirit and your soul of righteousness and good things. The word is alive. Have an active and it wants to be active and its mission is to be active in you. If you don’t read the word, you’re not allowing yourself to become corrected between the soul and the spirit between the joints and the marrow according to Hebrews chapter four, verse 12, we want to and we desperately need the Word of God in us, amen so that we can continue to be well removed from the things of the world are being transformed by the world and instead, we need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. according to Romans, chapter 12, verse two, based on what Paul wrote to the Romans, we need to be transformed. Just because we became born again and received a brand new spirit from the Lord. It doesn’t mean he changed our mind, we now have the mind of Christ, but only when we are reading the Word of God and start to think like God thinks, amen. God didn’t do a mind transplant. We’re not robots, we have a free will. But he did change our heart. He’s changing our heart, with his nature, in our see men. Let’s read on here. The Holy Spirit brings us into the knowledge of the truth, john, Chapter 14, verse 26, it says, but the Comforter, Counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, and stand by the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, Jesus said, in my place to represent me and act on my behalf, He will teach you all things. And he will cause you to recall, will remind you of bring to your remembrance, everything I have told you. So, when we give our lives to Christ, the Godhead comes to live within us. And we didn’t have this before. Amen, we had evil influences by the demonic realm. We were void of God within us. We are all creation, our existing creation, we were born out of our mother’s womb, and bless our mothers for having us going through those labor pains. But we needed to be born again of the Spirit, amen. JOHN, Chapter 14, verse 23, Jesus answered, if a person really loves me, he will keep my word, obey my teaching, and my Father will love him. And we will come to him and make our home abode, a special dwelling place with him. Now, that’s a conditional verse. Remember that? their word if is very powerful, in any statement, especially the Word of God, and especially if Jesus is saying it. And remember, do not assume that if you don’t do these things, that God will still come into you and abide in you. And I base that statement off of this verse, because of the word if Let’s read it again. JOHN, Chapter 14, verse 23, Jesus answered, if a person really loves me, he will keep my word, obey my teaching. And my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home, abode special dwelling place with him. So let’s make sure today, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, brothers and sisters in Christ, okay, that’s love the Lord. Let’s keep his word, obey what he’s told us to do, which is what he’s told His disciples to do. Because he told them to tell us whatever he told them at the end of Matthew 28. So we need to keep his teaching. And then Father, Amen, the great yawei he will love us. And then Jesus said, we will come to him, meaning the believer and make our home, abode, a special dwelling place with him the believer. So, john, Chapter 14, verse 23, check it out for yourself. And we just need to make sure that we are doing these things the Lord commanded us to do and keep his word. Amen. obey His teachings, obey these things that he’s told us to do, because what he’s told us to do is to spread the good news and to demonstrate the love of Christ and deliver people from the darkness. It’s to take people out from where we used to be. We shouldn’t just keep this for ourselves, we should freely give what we freely received, amen. Otherwise, it’s selfish. First Corinthians chapter six, verse 17, says, but the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Let’s read that again. But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Very similar to the previous verse we read out, there isn’t a boding that God has with us. Amen. If we love him, if we really love Jesus, if we keep his word, the Father will love us and we, and is the Godhead gee As the Father, the Holy Spirit will come to us and make our home in us with us, amen. First Corinthians chapter six, verse 17, says, but the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. That’s your spirit in God’s Spirit coming together. So if your spirit in the Lord spirit touch, you are surely going to be increasingly led in directions based on the pulling of the Holy Spirit, because God now abides with you, and you in him. That as opposed to the leading of your own flesh, which was crucified with Christ, or supposed to have been, and from being influenced by the leading of the demonic realm. Galatians chapter five, verse 24, to 26 says, and those who belong to Christ Jesus, the Messiah have crucified the flesh, the godless human nature, with its passions and appetites and desires. If we live by the Holy Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit. Let us not become vainglorious and self conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another. So you can see here that in verse 26, the apostle Paul, who’s writing to the church at Galicia, is telling the new church to make sure that they don’t become self conceited, competitive, provoking, irritating, jealous, one another in envying. Those things are not the fruit of the Spirit. So that means it’s possible to still act like you used to act even though you’re born again. But the likelihood that you will be able to continue to succeed in that. Depending on your love for Jesus and the time in the world and your focus on the Lord, it’s all about your will, it will be diminished. The temptation to do evil will be vastly diminished compared to before you came to Christ. Because you now have a new nature you have the nature of the Lord, instead of the nature of your old father, the devil, you no longer have, or you should no longer be exhibiting characteristics of your old father, but you should now be exhibiting the characteristics of your new one. Amen. So we can insulate ourselves from walking according to the flesh, by giving ourselves over to spending time with the Lord, being conscious of being with him, at all times praying in our most holy faith, do chapter one, verse 20, as we said, and reading the Word of God reading Jesus himself. And remember, Romans chapter 12, verse two, do not be conformed to this world, this age, fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs, but be transformed, changed by the entire renewal of your mind by its new ideals, and its new attitude. So that you may prove to yourself what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect in His sight for you. So who are we following today? We need to be seeking Jesus, we need to be in the Word of God, the word which is light, and the word which is life. Let’s be absorbed by the things which are good for us. The life that comes from God Himself. Jesus said, I’m the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me or by me, you men, so let’s be transformed so that we can repel evil, with a weakened stay away from those influences and those influences that come towards us from the enemy will have no effect on us, you will have a diminished effect, a diminished and reducing effect. The more you increase Jesus, the less the influence of evil will be able to pull you in to bait you, amen. So increased time with Jesus decreased time in your distractions every day, and you will be on the right course, you will be on the right path. And you will be with the way Jesus Himself. Amen. So thank you, Lord today for your word. We bless Your holy name, we thank you for leading us by your Holy Spirit. As we are one spirit with you, Lord, we thank you that that spirit, your precious Holy Spirit, continues to lead us sometimes when we know it. And sometimes when we don’t, nevertheless you love us and want us to be led according to your paths of righteousness. We are the righteousness of You, Lord in Christ Jesus. We thank You Father today for your son at the cross and every finish work he completed. We thank You, Lord, that we have a conviction in our heart by the Spirit of the Lord. To go deeper in you to go deeper into your word and ponder, meditate on your word day and night that it may be alive and active in our very being, our soul, enriched by life and love the light of God, so that we may have a greater resistance to being baited by the enemy to do things of evil, which is something we used to always be doing in our old man, before Lord Jesus, we were able to be buried with you in depth before we were resurrected with you and make came alive with you. We thank you today, Lord, for all the sacrifice that you have for us. Let us not see you as having done that in vain. Lord, we bless you today Lord, we thank you and I speak your life in healing right over these people’s bodies right now listening from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet, Lord, they are alive in you and they are free from all sickness and disease or they Thank you there’s nothing they need to do except just believe. And I believe Lord with them and I thank you Lord, it’s already done it’s finished. And I thank you i banish and I command or sicknesses and diseases to leave them now in Jesus name or pain be gone from them or cancer be gone from them. All problems with their eyes and their ESB gone from them in Jesus name. Thank you, Lord, you’re walking correctly, their legs are the same length. Thank you, Lord, that they are walking upright with the best posture that they’ve ever had because they are live in you. And they are no longer in shame. In Jesus name. Amen. All right, that’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you so much for listening. Until next time next week, be blessed. In Jesus name. Amen.
¿A quién servimos? ¿Estamos tratando de buscar la verdad? ¿Conocemos a nuestro Señor? Entonces, preguntémonos, ¿a quién estamos siguiendo? No somos robots, tenemos libre albedrío. Entonces, ¿a quién seguimos hoy?
In this the one hundredth radio and podcast program on Your Identity in Christ, we talk about how to bear an abundance of fruit that Jesus expects of us. In this mini series on The Dwelling Place, we find out what is that fruit that is mentioned in John chapter 15, verse 16, as we reference the fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians chapter 5, verses 22-24.
This program covers the following Scriptures from the Amplified Classic version (AMPC): John 15:16-18; Galatians 5:22-24.
As you read and hopefully receive this message, JESUS will confirm His Word and SET YOU FREE. Allow God to do this for you. Let God rip of the chains. This is not a gimic. It is the commission of Jesus through his followers, to set the captives free.
John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. (NASB)
JESUS, the Son of God, has paid for you to be redeemed, to be set free from captivity, from all sin, all bondage, sickness and death. The question is are you in the mood to receive this today?
My heart’s desire is for you to have an open mind, to see the love and goodness of your Creator and forbid the enemy from stealing one more day (2 Cor 4:4) from you experiencing the freedom of God’s love.
I felt strongly to take time to declare God’s will over you in this message. Who am I to do this? While undeserving of God’s mercy and grace, JESUS nevertheless commanded me to do it (Mark 16:15) because the Sovereignty of God has chosen to use His children, His sons and daughters who have believed in His name, and Faith in Jesus’ name (Acts 3:16) to set the captives free in the authority of the name that is above all names, that, the name of JESUS!
Since today as a child of God, indeed a son of God, being raised in Christ and seated with Him in Heavenly places (Eph 2:6), being placed far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named (Eph 1:21), I can speak the Word of God over someone or a thing, and according to my faith in God, and to the degree that my mind is renewed and understands the nature and will of God, (Romans 12:1-2), God’s will shall be accomplished.
So in the authority of the name of JESUS, I say today, your mortal body shall support you, being free of sickness and all infirmity for your entire life (Romans 8:11, Prov 4:20-24)
You shall live and not die. (Luke 20:38)
You ARE healed, and made whole by the stripe of JESUS (Isa 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24)
All sickness is far from you, since nothing shall by any means injure you (Luke 10:19)
You shall believe by faith and not by sight, no matter what you feel or sense with your mortal body. (2 Cor 5:7)
You shall have a desire to learn God’s ways (Prov 4:1-2)
You shall desire to give your heart to Jesus, and receive Him as your Savior (once) and Lord (daily). (Rom 10:9)
You shall not be overcome by evil, but you shall overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21)
You shall bless the lost as well as the body of Christ with the love of Christ that is within you (if indeed you have been saved by God’s grace through faith in JESUS) (1 Cor 13)
You shall declare the Word of God over others and set them free (Isa 61)
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13)
But thanks be to God, who always leads you to triumph in Christ, and manifests through you the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. (2 Cor 2:14)
Be encouraged today, that if you have received JESUS as your Savior and Lord in your heart, then you are a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. (2 Cor 5:17)
Let the past go, give your current problems to God on a daily basis. Let not the devil distract you through the things of this world since you are IN this world but you are not OF this world. (John 17:16)
The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe. (Prov 18:10). However the better news today is that the Lord is living in YOU! (1 Cor 3:16)
There is no reason for you to fear. If you AGREE with the fear, if you take action based on agreeing with a doubt, then you are saying that you do not trust your loving Heavenly Father. This, when He has done you no wrong, ever, and gave you His Son to pay for your sins, when you and I did not deserve it. Who are we to disbelieve God? If we spent time to understand the love, character and nature of God, we would wonder why we spent so many years blaming, doubting and questioning him for our circumstances.
Be free today, understand who you are in Christ. “and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” (Eph 4:24)
I do not need to say to you “Be Blessed”, because you already have been. (Eph 1:3)
Please comment underneath this post with your testimonies of how God has been good to you and set you free, regardless of when it occurred in your life.
On earth gravity is always present. We cannot see it but we know it’s there because we don’t float off into outer space.
On earth Jesus is always present in every believer. We cannot see Jesus but He’s there because He does miracles through us according to the degree that we believe that He wants and can perform these miracles through us.
Science is continually proving what God’s Word has been saying all along. Yet based on the lack of the power of the gospel being proclaimed both inside and outside the walls of a church building, most Christians it seems believe more in gravity than they do in Jesus. At least they may believe Jesus died for their sins and allows them eternal life based on their believing in Him and confessing Him as Lord (Rom 10:9) but that is where it stops.
Gravity hasn’t given us a great commission. Gravity is not offensive. Gravity doesn’t expect of us. Gravity serves us instead of us having to serve it.
The harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few Jesus said.
I feel both sad and angry that a lot of God’s sheep have fallen astray to false doctrine. It is so important that we are taught by a preacher who is moving in the signs and wonders of Christ, because that is someone who understands, at least in part, the power of God’s Holy Spirit to set people free from the various forms of bondage.
But even demonstrations are not enough. They have to be accompanied by pure and unapologetic teachings of the Word of God. No believer is excluded from the Great Commission of Jesus. If a ship is on fire the captain orders “ALL HANDS ON DECK!”
Jesus has commanded All believers to LAY ALL HANDS ON THE SICK. Mark 16. Matthew 28. No excuses.
So why do we not see this commonplace in our walks of life? Poor shepherding by teachers of the flock. Laid back Christians just waiting to hand their ticket to the angel at the gates of Heaven. Christians not researching the gospel for themselves to see if what they are hearing is lining up with what God has said.
Christians giving up when they don’t see results. (the world is ahead on this one. They say ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try try again!)
Jesus never threw in the towel for us. So since when do we believe we have a choice to not do the right thing when we see a situation that God wants us to do something about?
Where has God said that we can be laid back and treat His commands of the great commission as optional tasks?
I am glad Jesus didn’t see the cross as optional. I am blessed to know He loved me regardless of me sinning against Him.
You ministers teaching that prophets or pastors don’t have a responsibility to heal the sick or cast out demons or even lead someone to Christ. You best repent and put down the microphone for a season, get back in the Word before you cause less laborers in the harvest. Evangelists are also supposed to be Prophetic. We are all supposed to be leading people to Jesus. Telling of the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Saints lets be responsible. Let us wake up. Let us charge forward by force and take back the territory the powers of darkness has stolen from underneath your watch.
Let us be the warriors, the army of God that we have been called to be. There was a reason God’s Word says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. It’s not just for things on this earth but for enforcing the defeat of Satan and his pathetic excuse for a demonic realm.
Let us son and daughter “up” and no longer allow death and hell to keep walking on us and God’s Creation.
Repent. Turn about. Turn back to Jesus. Forget the past. Walk lock step with your Lord! God is trying to create today and tomorrow as Co laborers with you based on how you want it to be. And hopefully, like Jesus, that is according to God’s will and not your own.
We are richly blessed to be called the sons and daughters of God. May we rejoice knowing our new identity in Christ. Let us be confident that He is forever by our side. Jesus tells us be anxious for nothing. So do not worry about a thing. For if you do you only feed the problem and it takes longer for that problem to be resolved. People say to you don’t worry about something that might never happen. I say instead that if you worry about something it may cause it to happen because what our faith believes shall happen
… will mostly like happen. When we worry we do not have a problem believing in our worries. We never doubt about how bad a problem might be in our lives. Sadly we too often believe in them. Instead let us have faith in God. Believe in Him instead. Whose report shall we believe? For He alone is trustworthy and faithful. He has positionally delivered us from all our worries and troubles and sicknesses. All we have to do is take hold of his truth and his kindness and Faithfulness and give him all our troubles. As the lady in the song shown in this post sings so beautifully…..
If you have allowed Jesus in to your heart and confess Him as your Lord and believe that He was raised from the dead…. You are blessed indeed!
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.
O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
O fear the Lord, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.
The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.
Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry.
The face of the Lord is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the Lord hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Lord You are good. Thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do in our lives. You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek you.
As you are so are your sons and daughters in this world.
John 3:35 (NASB) says:
‘The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.’
Why do we go to conferences seeking impartations and spiritual gifts? If you believe in Jesus, you have ALL YOU NEED inside of you! You have the Most Holy Almighty God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, as well as Jesus and the Holy Spirit living inside of the recreated Spirit that Jesus suffered so much to give you.
The Father has given ALL things to the Son (Jesus), and you are COMPLETE in Jesus! See verse 10 below.
Colossians 2:8-15 (NASB):
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, [h]rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made [i]complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 When you were dead [k]in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.’
If you are complete, nothing else needs to happen to your Spirit! You need not go anywhere except down on your knees and thank Him for paying for it all!
NOW….. Read the Bible, Believe it, and Be a Doer of it, so that you do not deceive yourself. (James 1:22-24)
THEN you shall BELIEVE, your FAITH will become activated, and you SHALL see miracles signs and wonders with God working through you. (Philippians 2:13). You SHALL set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1)
Be encouraged! God does not withhold anything from you, his Son, his disciple which seeks to do His Will, bringing Heaven to Earth. (Matt 6:10, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20)
Walk about this world in confidence in the name of Jesus, the name above ALL names.
God cannot help but to pour out! But our free will and unbelief prevents Him most of the time.
In the Bible we see that Jesus didn’t even know the woman with the issue of blood had touched him and received her healing:
NAS Bible. Luke 8:43-48 And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped. And Jesus said, “Who is the one who touched Me?” And while they were all denying it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You.” But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had gone out of Me.” When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
We know God the Father feels the same way as His Son Jesus, because of:
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Jesus didn’t have to approve of the power of God to leave him before it happened. It just happened. It is who He is. His true divine nature.
We block the ability of the power of God to flow through us because of our unbelief. (see Matthew 17:19-20) Don’t try to make any other excuse for not seeing miracles by your hands. Just believe. Only believe. Lord help our unbelief. So be it. AMEN. HALLELUJAH. Yes you should also be baptized in the Holy Spirit to move more in power. But allowing God through you in any amount all comes down to faith. He wants to reach the poor desperate soul in front of you more than you do. And he is waiting for you to believe and do the same and greater works that Jesus did…. so that He can flow through you to reach that soul in front of you.
2 Timothy 4
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
Sins remitted and the ‘Ticket to Heaven’, but there’s so much more!
Most people believe that Jesus ascended into Heaven. However few seem to know what this means to them in their own life.
If we put the Bible back on the shelf after merely fulfilling Romans 10v9 just to get into Heaven through salvation, we are sadly missing the majority of the Gospel. That is, to our detriment, and those in our path that need Jesus.
Believers Are Dead to Sin, Alive to God
1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
When we give our lives to Christ Jesus, when we allow him into our hearts, when we confess that he is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, the Bible says in Romans 10v9 we are saved.
Part of becoming saved is that we are baptized into His death (see Rom 6v3 above). God recreates our heart, our spirit. We become a new creation, as stated in:
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
See here that the old things passed away. What old things? The old you! What happened to the old me? It died with Christ Jesus on the cross. The old self that was sin-ruled since the first birth (out of our Mother’s womb). We did not know any different, but to sin. That is because we had a sin-nature. It was inherent in us, we did not need to be taught it. This goes back to the sin committed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (see Genesis 3 regarding the Fall of Man.)
Now however, the Bible says in:
2 Corinthians 5:21
21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
God the Father made Jesus who was sinless, had never done anything wrong, become sin on OUR behalf. All of our sin, past present and future was placed onto Jesus on the cross, and thus our old sin-ruled self has died on the cross with Jesus!
Without Jesus doing this, salvation would not be possible, as there would be no way back to God following the events of the Fall of Man.
So now understand this placing of our sins on the cross with Jesus is us being baptized into his death.
Sin no longer has a hold on a new believer, positionally. The devil Satan has no rights over you once you choose to receive Jesus and make him your Lord. That is because now you have been bought by the blood of Jesus, have become one of his, and no are no longer a child of the devil (1 John 3:10).
Romans chapter 6 continues (bold emphasis mine):
4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;7 for he who has died is freed from sin.
One of the huge victories Christ Jesus won for those who believe in him is that our old “body of sin might be done away with” (v6 above), having been nailed to the cross with Jesus. This is you FINALLY being set FREE by Jesus! You are no longer a slave to sin, seemingly being controlled and overwhelmed by it, while your own feeble efforts as an unbeliever are not sufficient to overcome it. That is until you become a believer and God’s Grace becomes sufficient. Not a license to sin, but rather the strength of God’s will to support and help you resist the temptations of the devil and to give you a way of escape (1 Cor 10v13).
If we are dead to sin, why do some of us still decide to habitually embroil ourselves in it? Here I am not talking of the odd slip and fall, but the deliberate and habitual sin that we apply effort into practicing. Because we have a free will, and we decide to push aside the conviction of the Holy Spirit because the temptations are “just too strong” to say no to. Or so some of us tend to believe. However, 1 Cor 10v13 shows us that no temptation is strong enough to say no to for a believer. We must not try to raise the old man back up and continue habitually living in our former ways. We must act who we now are, a totally different creature or species. To do this we must focus on Jesus, while at the same time study the Truth that is God’s Word, and believe what is written is the truth, and act it out in our daily lives. This is the mind being renewed, which is essential to giving further distance to our old ways:
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
The bible says that the carnal mind is enmity against God (Rom 8:7). We owe it to God — the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit to walk as Jesus walked.. Holy (1 Peter 1:15). However tough it is to say “no” to temptation, know that is the RIGHT thing to do. Seek God first and His Righteousness. (Matt 6:33). Do your best to walk upright.
It is to our detriment and thousands of people that God wants to bless through us, that we abuse our new self with the sin that causes us not to be as effective in bringing the Light that is in us to the darkness of this world, the Life that is Jesus who is in us to the suffering of this world. Not to mention we end up with a sin consciousness, where we should focus on a righteousness consciousness. We will slip and fall from time to time. This is not habitual. In these cases, we can apply 1 John 1:9, repent (change our thinking, do a 180 degree turn around and walk in the ‘right’ way again.) and it says Jesus is faithful to forgive as we confess our sins.
Remember, we are a NEW creation!
Put On the New Self
1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Galatians 2:20 says that you are no longer alive, but it’s Christ living in you!
20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Let us not act someone who we are not. Sin has no grip on us any more. Simply don’t play games with fire any more. Leave it well alone, and focus on doing the Great Commission of Jesus (Mark 16; Matthew 28) and you will be fulfilling James 4:7, and the devil will leave you well alone:
7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Consider yourselves to be dead to sin.
Each time the devil reminds you of your past and your old sins, tell him that old man is dead, and now you are a new creation.
Consider yourselves to be alive to God in Christ Jesus.
There is much work to be done, to set the captives free (Isaiah 61), to lay hands on the sick and see them recover (Mark 16:18). No time to be wasted foolishly. There are people dying, people sick, people who need Jesus, and you the believer are CARRYING HIM!
7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
In Joshua 3 we learn how the people of Israel crossed the Jordan.
Specifically, in verses 13-17 we see that the waters only stopped when the feet of the priests carrying the Ark of the LORD went into the water:
13 It shall come about when the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be cut off, and the waters which are flowing down from above will stand in one heap.
14 So when the people set out from their tents to cross the Jordan with the priests carrying the ark of the covenant before the people,15 and when those who carried the ark came into the Jordan, and the feet of the priests carrying the ark were dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the days of harvest),16 the waters which were flowing down from above stood and rose up in one heap, a great distance away at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those which were flowing down toward the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. So the people crossed opposite Jericho.17 And the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground, until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan.
When it comes to a situation you are facing, are your feet already firmly in the water so that God can stop the flood? Or, are you waiting on God before you will put your full trust in Him? Try trusting in God and taking that first step. Then watch God move.
When God delivered me from twenty years of alcoholism, he told me that when I took my first step, he would “take the other ten”. This means God was waiting for me, not the other way around. I obeyed, went home, flushed the drink down the sink, and the next day I had no more urges. This was in 2009, seven years ago at the time of writing this message. I have not wanted to drink alcohol since that day.
Be encouraged, Trust in the Lord, for He is faithful. Take your first step of faith in your situation!
