Ephesians 6, The Armor of God (Part 1) (199) – June 24 2023

The first in this series on Ephesians 6, we look at the verses leading up to the instructions of the Apostle Paul to put on the Armor of God in order that we are able to stand up against all the strategies and deceits of the devil. The precursor to putting on the Armor of God is how we should treat others.

As children, we should obey our parents in the Lord as His representative, and from that scripture says we will have a long life on the earth.

That, as Fathers we are not to irritate and provoke our children to anger, but to rear them tenderly in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord (we know this is not happening nearly as much as it needs to be in society and across the world.)

As servants we are to be obedient to whoever are our physical masters and with a right motive of heart. Not doing good things because we know they are watching us, but doing them as a service to Christ Himself. Doing good for anyone causes a reward from the Lord.

As physical masters, for them to act on the same principle toward them and give up threatening and using violent and abusive words. That God as our Master is no respecter of persons.

We begin to talk about drawing strength from the Lord and the action words of these scriptures. That His strength is not automatic. We have to actively draw on it. We should be conscious of the importance of building and strengthening the union we have with Christ, or begin one if one doesn’t exist already.

This program covers the following Scriptures from the Amplified Classic version (AMPC): Psalm 1:1-2; Ephesians 6:1-11; John 15; Philippians 4:6-7.
